Cryptocurrencies are used for illegal transactions, said Microsoft founder Bill Gates, The Independent reported.

According to him, cryptocurrencies do not answer to any government or central bank.

“The main feature of cryptocurrencies is their anonymity. I don’t think this is a good thing,” said Bill Gates, adding “the Governments [sic] ability to find money laundering and tax evasion and terrorist funding is a good thing. Microsoft founder also noted that cryptocurrencies are super risky for long-term investments.
