YEREVAN. – Instability in Iran is perilous to Armenia.

Armenia’s Caucasus Institute Director, political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan, said the abovementioned at a press conference on Tuesday.

In the analyst’s words, Armenia has good relations with solely two of its neighboring countries, and therefore any tension, either in Georgia or in Iran, can have a negative impact on Armenia as well.

“Armenian-Iranian relations develop in bilateral format, actually in all directions,” Iskandaryan noted. “It’s hard to imagine how to deepen them more.”

He added that it is becoming apparent that Iran is extremely important to Armenia.

At the same time, Alexander Iskandaryan stressed that even though there were foundations for the current protests in Iran, nothing major can occur.
