Minister Tonoyan briefed James Jones on the situation across NK Line of Contact
Armenian defense minister Davit Tonoyan received on Friday Atlantic Council Executive Chairman Emeritus Retired Gen. James L. Jones. As the defense ministry reported in a press statement, Minister Tonoyan presented the situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border and at the Line of Contact between Artsakh and Azerbaijan, reflected on Armenian-American and Armenia-NATO cooperation in the defense sector.
According to the source, interlocutors exchanged thoughts on number of issues of regional and International security issues.
To note, Jones Jr. is a retired United States Marine Corps general and a former United States National Security Advisor. During his military career, he served as the 32nd Commandant of the Marine Corps from July 1999 to January 2003, and Commander, United States European Command and Supreme Allied Commander Europe from 2003 to 2006. Jones retired from the Marine Corps on February 1, 2007, after 40 years of service.
