Armenia joining International Museum Day and Museum NightMay 17, 2022 - 15:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On the International Museum Day on May 18, all the museums in Armenia will open their gates to visitors for free, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport reveals. The country will also celebrate Museum Night on May 21, and entrance will be free on that day too – from 11 am to 12 am. People are free to visit as many museums as is physically possible in one day. According to the Ministry, 125 museums are participating in both events with hundreds of initiatives throughout Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh). International Museum Day was officially established in 1977 with the adoption of a resolution during the ICOM General Assembly in Moscow, Russia to create an annual event “with the aim of further unifying the creative aspirations and efforts of museums and drawing the attention of the world public to their activity.
