‘Ceasefire breaches don’t contribute to strengthening trust’ – Armenia on Azerbaijani mortar fire
at Artsakh LoC

YEREVAN, MARCH 20, ARMENPRESS. Azerbaijan’s ceasefire violations and destructive rhetoric do not contribute to strengthening peace and trust in the NK conflict settlement process, Armenian foreign ministry spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan said at a news conference today addressing the March 13 mortar fire ceasefire breach committed by Azerbaijan at the Artsakh line of contact (LoC).

“In this regard the foreign ministry expresses hope that the parties to the conflict will be committed to the agreements that have been reached during the meeting in Dushanbe,” she said.

On March 13, Azerbaijan fired a total of nine mortar shells at Artsakh positions. Artsakh did not suffer any losses.

In September of 2018, Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met in Dushanbe, the capital city of Tajikistan, and reached an agreement on de-escalating the tension at the border and preventing incidents.
