PM Pashinyan receives Ambassador of Belarus

YEREVAN, JULY 14, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Armenia Igor Nazaruk, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia, ARMENPRESS was informed from the Office of the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister praised the Ambassador's efforts to develop the Armenian-Belarusian relations during his tenure and wished him success in his future activities. According to Nikol Pashinyan, there is a high level of dialogue between the leaders of Belarus and Armenia, the two countries and peoples have traditional friendly relations, which are a strong pillar for their continuous development and full realization of the existing potential.

The Prime Minister highlighted the open dialogue and reliable partnership within the CSTO and EAEU integration unions. Nikol Pashinyan referred to the provocative measures against the Armenian positions launched by Azerbaijan since July 12 and emphasized the importance of constructive position of the CSTO partners in this regard.

As refers to the cooperation in the sidelines of the EAEU, Pashinyan noted that there is great potential for developing economic relations and consistent efforts will give an opportunity to really increase trade turnover and investments.

The Ambassador of Belarus thanked Prime Minister Pashinyan for the appreciation of his efforts, noting that he had made every effort to strengthen the ties between the two countries. According to him, the volume of bilateral trade has more than doubled during this period, which speaks of the positive dynamics of cooperation and the bilateral readiness to deepen it. The Ambassador referred to the current and perspective programs, speaking with satisfaction about the establishment of an Armenian-Belarusian forest near the shores of Lake Sevan, the works of which are still underway. He also highlighted the resumption of works of the Armenian-Belarusian intergovernmental commission in the near future.

The Ambassador of Belarus to Armenia expressed concerns over the escalation of the situation on Armenia-Azerbaijan border and condemned the escalation.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on the struggle against coronavirus, expressing confidence that with joint efforts it will be possible to overcome the crisis.

Igor Nazaruk expressed his respect and love towards Armenia, the Armenian people and the rich culture of Armenia and noted that he will recall the years of carrying out a diplomatic mission in Armenia with warmth.

PM Pashinyan thanked the Ambassador for the warm words, emphasizing that he will remain the good friend of Armenia and the Armenian people.
