YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sees no political implication in Russian president Vladimir Putin's greetings conveyed to Armenia's second president Robert Kocharyan on his birthday.

“This is a matter of personal relations. Having managed to know Russian president, I can say he values personal ties and maintains personal relation with the present and former leaders of different countries,” he said.

Nikol Pashinyan cited Putin’s recent visit to Austrian foreign minister’s wedding as an example.

“Despite rather complicated relations with the EU, he attended Austrian official’s wedding which means he pays special attention to the personal ties,” he said.

Commenting on the remark that Putin did not congratulate Kocharyan for ten years, Pashinyan joked: “I am not following the statistics attentively”.
