‘Very open, sincere and positive discussion took place’ – Armenian PM on CSTO Yerevan summit

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 24, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan regrets that during yesterday’s CSTO summit in Yerevan they have not managed to come to a general agreement around two very important documents. However, the PM, overall, assesses the meeting “positive”.

“A very open, sincere and positive discussion took place”, the PM said during today’s Cabinet meeting.

“These two documents have been sent for revision, and I hope we will be able to come to a common conclusion. But in general, despite that we didn’t sign the CSTO declaration and the decision of CSTO’s reaction to the September 13th escalation, and they were not approved, I assess the discussion as positive, I also positively assess the talks held with Russia in a bilateral format”, Pashinyan said, expressing hope that the agreements reached will be implemented as soon as possible.

Yerevan hosted the CSTO summit on November 23 chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. During the summit Armenia refused to sign the CSTO declaration and the draft decision to provide help to Armenia. Armenia said these documents were not complete.
