Six of the defendants in the criminal case into the armed group that was neutralized in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia, on Monday were released from detention.

The Yerevan court of general jurisdiction granted the motion by the legal defenders of the accused. Accordingly, four defendants were released from custody on the basis of a personal pledge by several MPs, whereas a signature bond to not leave the country was selected as preventive measure against two other defendants.

As per the indictment, the aforesaid armed group comprising 20 people—and which was rendered ineffective in 2015 in Yerevan—had planned to forcibly seize power in Armenia.
