Armen Sargsyan:Sweden is one of Armenia's important and reliable partners in the Scandinavian region
The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Armenia Ulrik Tydrestrom (residence in Tbilisi) presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sargsyan.
Ambassador Tydestrom emphasized the close friendly relations between the two countries and peoples and stressed the importance of the role of the Swedish-Armenian community in that issue, the Public Relations Department of the Presidential Administration of Armenia reports. The newly appointed Ambassador conveyed the greetings of the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf to the President of Armenia.
President Sargsyan wished Ambassador Tydrestrom efficient activity and expressed his confidence that he would use his experience and professional skills to further strengthen the bilateral relations. According to him, though Armenian-Swedish diplomatic relations have been established only 26 years ago, historical and cultural relations between that country and Armenians come from the depths of centuries.
President Sargsyan underlined that Sweden is one of the important and reliable partners of Armenia in the Scandinavian region and there are serious prerequisites for the expansion of cooperation in different directions.
