The jailed former deputy chief of the Armenian parliament staff, Arsen Babayan will be set free, advisor of Armenia’s attorney general Gor Abrahamyan said on Facebook.
Babayan, who was arrested on 21 October, is accused of involvement in a “usurpation of power” resulting in Hrayr Tovmasyan’s appointment as Constitutional Court chairman in 2018.
Abrahamyan says investigators have completed the main part of the probe and other procedural actions regarding Babayan’s case and he is not likely to obstruct justoce any longer.
