NATO considers extra assistance to Georgia’s marine capacity in Black Sea

NATO and Georgia are discussing possibilities for enhancing cooperation regarding the situation in the Black Sea, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on March 25 in Tbilisi.

Stoltenberg is in Georgia on the occasion of the joint military exercises between the organization and the Caucasian country.

“We are currently thinking what else we can do in the Georgian marine capability sector,” Stoltenberg said after meeting PM Mamuka Bakhtadze.

He also spoke about “the significant strengthening of Russia’s presence” in the Black Sea region.
