Arsen Babayan, a lawyer and senior member of the opposition Homeland Party, stressed the need for major changes in the electoral system of Armenia following last Sunday’s local elections.
"In Gyumri, with an officially registered population of 100,000, the mayor of the city was elected according to voting results. This mayor received only 8,000 votes,” he wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
