The Russian-Azerbaijani arms supply deal should not be a big problem for Armenia if it poses no life hazards to the country’s population, a Russian military expert has said, commenting on the reported plans for a new agreement.
“The problem is not the fact that Russia supplies weapons to Azerbaijan. What’s problematic is the nomenclature, the Russian nomenclature I think. Russia should not sell flame-thrower systems or lethal weapons to Azerbaijan. I hope this is how they pursue their nomenclature. Hence, weapons sale per se is not a problem if it is not expected to cause casualties among the civilians,” Vladimir Yevseev, the head of the Caucasus Department at the Institute of CIA Affairs, told our correspondent.
