Armenia’s humanitarian mission in Syria is in accordance with the letter of the law, Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan said today at a joint press conference with his Cypriot counterpart Savvas Angelides in Yerevan, commenting on the recent dispatch of an Armenian group of specialists to Aleppo.
“The official statement on our cooperation with Syria says there has been a written request by the Syrian authorities,” he said.
Tonoyan said that the possible move to send troops to Syria will also be in line with the letter of law. “Meantime, we will try to collaborate also with extra-parliamentary forces while taking a decision on the matter,” he added.
