Panorama.am had an interview with the advisor to the President of the Artsakh Republic, Tigran Abrahamyan.
Question: Mr. Abrahamyan, the OSCE MG Co-Chairs issued a statement: They expressed hope that the intense, results-oriented, high-level dialogue between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan will contribute to a just and lasting settlement of the conflict in the near future. Moreover, they called on the parties to take concrete measures to prepare their populations for peace. Do you notice a new patterns in the negotiations, are there new processes?
Answer: It’s not the first time the Co-Chairs have called on to prepare the populations for peace, not war. In the annual joint statement of leaders of the Co-Chair countries, there have always been calls for it.
Azerbaijan is on state level in a constant process of inciting enmity in its society, and talking about peace in this case is simply impossible. This is the reason why the mediators always send this message. As for the statement, "the fair and lasting settlement of the conflict in the near future," it is slightly unclear what has served as a motivation for the co-chairs make such optimistic comments.
Question: Information was spread that the Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers had a long talk and negotiation.
Answer: Frankly, I am not aware of the details, I comment on what is within my power. In any case, Artsakh does not notice a new wave of negotiations, no new processes can be seen.
