The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry called on Azerbaijan to prevent third parties from using its territories and border. Saeed Khatibzadeh's comments came at at a weekly press conference on Monday, according to Pars Today report.
“We have reminded our colleagues in Baku of this issue, and they said overtly and covertly that they would give warnings. Baku should not allow third parties to use its borders and territories,” he said, as quoted by the source.
Iran knows well how to protect its security, but the right thing would be for Azerbaijan to fulfill its duties concerning its sovereignty, the spokesman added.
Asked about the Armenian foreign minister’s visit to Tehran, Khatibzadeh said the trip had been arranged beforehand and is made for talks on the bilateral ties and the promotion of political, economic and cultural relations.
