YEREVAN, AUGUST 25, ARMENPRESS: International book art festival entitled “Back to the Book” will be conducted October 1-7 in Yerevan. It is implemented by “Armenian Book Center” cultural union and Khnko Aper Children’s National Library under the high patronage of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Armenian Culture Ministry. Director of the library Ruzanna Tonoyan told Armenpress that days rich in interesting events are expected. Many publishers, writers, art figures and artists from Armenia, Iran, Germany, and France will take part. There is an initial agreement of participation with the USA and Italy as well.
“The 500th anniversary of book publishing will be grandiosely celebrated in 2012 in Armenia, for the same year Yerevan has been proclaimed by the UNESCO a world capital of book. On the eve of those important events we intend to conduct an international book art festival,” Mrs. Tonoyan said.
The international festival will kick off in Khnko Aper Children’s National Library; afterward a parade to the Freedom Square will be organized, where the key event of the festival – big exhibition-fair of books, will be conducted.
