
In the opening ceremony of the 16th Iran-Armenia Joint Trade and Economic Committee meeting in Tehran on Monday, Farhad Yazdandoust, the advisor to the Iranian minister of energy for international affairs, called on the two countries to overcome the existing challenges facing development of relations, IRNA news agency reported.
"Undoubtedly, Iran and Armenia have deep political and historic, friendly ties,” the Iranian official said.
Referring to some of the key challenges facing the two countries' economic and trade cooperation, he stated: "It is imperative that the challenges of the economic and commercial relations between Iran and Armenia be examined and resolved by the efforts of the representatives of the two countries."
