Armenian army's General Staff demands Pashinyan's resignation

PanARMENIAN.Net - The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia issued a statement on Thursday, demanding the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his government.

The statement came after the First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Tiran Khachatryan was relieved of his duties after contradicting Pashinyan's statements about the Iskander missiles.

“The General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces protests the dismissal of the First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces on short-sighted and unreasonable grounds, carried out without taking into account the national and state interests of the Republic of Armenia, based only on personal and ambitious feelings," the General staff said in the statement.

"The Prime Minister and the Government of Armenia are no longer able to make adequate decisions amid this fateful and critical situation for the Armenian people.
