Armenia saw a growth in electricity generation in the first five months of this year, according to the latest official statistics.
The country produced a total of 3,310 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in January-May 2021, up by 2% from the same period of 2020, the Statistical Committee reported.
In the meantime, the electricity generation at thermal power plants (TPPs) dropped by 0.7% to stand at 1,064 million kilowatt-hours.
Some 1,064 thousand gigajoules of thermal energy were produced in the country in the five months of this year, a decrease of 38.6% from 2020.
