The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has deployed mostly offensive military equipment and manpower to the Iran-Azerbaijan border area, Armenian expert on Iran Garik Misakyan said late on Wednesday, citing Iranian media reports.
"The IRGC has sent the 31st Ashura Division formed during the Iran-Iraq war, which carries out special operations, to the area near Araks River bank,” the expert wrote on Facebook.
A large number of armored vehicles, tanks intended for offensive warfare, armored personnel carriers, missile and artillery systems, including 122-mm multiple rocket launchers and Fajr-3 missile systems, have been deployed to the border with Azerbaijan, he said.
