The honorary doctorate degree, which Munzur University of Turkey had bestowed upon Bundestag member and German Turk Cem Özdemir in 2008, has been revoked.
The university said in a statement that this honorary degree was revoked because Özdemir had implemented a policy of debasing the Republic of Turkey, according to Yeni Şafak (New Dawn) newspaper of the country.
