The Russian Defense Ministry has offered Yerevan and Baku to start the border demarcation and delimitation process from ground zero, Andranik Kocharyan, an MP from the ruling Civil Contract faction and head of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Defense and Security, told a briefing on Friday.
"It’s about starting the process from scratch, and Armenia has given its consent," he said in response to a question about Russia’s proposals on the preparatory stage of demarcation and delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
Chairman of the parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Eduard Aghajanyan, in turn, said Armenia has notified Russia of its consent to work on the preparatory stage.
The Armenian side is ready to set up a relevant commission and start the main process as soon as it reaches an agreement on several technical issues, he added.
