The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction denied a motion to allow Armenia’s former Deputy Prime Minister and current MP Armen Gevorgyan to leave the country in late November.
At a hearing on Tuesday, his lawyer Lusine Sahakyan petitioned the court to either remove the restrictions on her client’s free movement or allow him to leave the country from 30 November to 3 December to attend the plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development to be held in Moscow on 1 December. Gevorgyan was expected to take part in it as part of the Armenian delegation to the PACE.
