Karabakh mosque damaged in Azerbaijan's shelling

PanARMENIAN.Net - Gohar Agha Mosque in Shushi, Nagorno-Karabakh was partially damaged in Azerbaijan's shelling of civilian settlements on Sunday, November 1, the Armenian Unified Infocenter reports.

In the afternoon, Grad and Smerch rockets landed in Shushi, and the mosque was among many buildings damaged in fire.

Several years ago, Nagorno-Karabakh authorities hired Iranian experts for a major restoration project and reopened the Govhar mosque, the neighboring madrasa and the park were formally opened for tourism in October 2019.

The Azeri military used air force to bomb the town of Martuni and the villages nearby, as well as the town of Martakert. No casualties have been reported.
