The aggression of Azerbaijan and Turkey against the Armenian people last fall will be the focus of the virtual event, "Anatomy of Genocide: Karabakh's Forty-Four Day War," hosted by International Christian Concern (ICC) and the Armenian Assembly of America (Assembly) on Wednesday, March 17, at 10am EST.
Special guest speaker Robert Avetisyan, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Artsakh to the U.S., will deliver remarks, alongside representatives from ICC and the Assembly, aimed at highlighting key issues relative to the war and its aftermath and providing recommendations for U.S. policymakers on how to address and resolve outstanding issues, the Armenian Assembly of America reported on Tuesday.
The war in Artsakh launched by Azerbaijan, with the full and open support of Turkey and jihadist mercenaries, on September 27, 2020, resulted in horrific human rights abuses against Armenian Christian civilians of Artsakh and Armenian soldiers who are still held as prisoners of war by Azerbaijan, in clear violation of the November 9, 2020 ceasefire statement as well as the Geneva Conventions.
In a recent statement, ICC observed that the war went beyond territorial control of Artsakh.
