The exploitation of the new TPP the construction of which may soon start in Yerevan can lead to a decrease of electricity tariff by 1.5 AMD, ARMENPRESS reports the acting Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of Armenia Garegin Baghramyan said during a press conference.
'The exploitation of the new TPP will give an opportunity to save 8 billion AMD annually. Only this factor can lead to a decrease of tariff of 1.5 AMD’, Baghramyan said.
The construction of the TPP will last 24-25 months.
'Within 15-20 days the construction works can kick off. 1000-1100 jobs will be created during the construction and after the construction nearly 230 employees will work at the TPP”, the acting minister said.
The new TPP will leave behind Hrazdan TTP in terms of power, and will replace it after is put into operation.
